This hand-painted miniature Mahasthamaprapta thangka painting depicts the Bodhisattva in a radiant golden hue, seated on a lotus throne with a calm expression and luminous aura. A sacred lotus or jewel is held in the hand, presenting strength through balance rather than force. Known as the Bodhisattva of Great Strength, Mahasthamaprapta is traditionally associated with enlightened wisdom, clarity, resolve, and the power to overcome ignorance.
The miniature 4 x 5 cm thangka is hand-painted in Lhasa by Lixindi, an inheritor of Tibetan intangible cultural heritage. Fine cotton canvas, 24K gold, and natural stone pigments are used in the painting, with azurite and malachite in the painting process. Its golden palette, centered lotus-seat composition, and tranquil expression make it suitable for an altar, study, meditation space, or compact collection of Bodhisattva imagery.
