Thousand-Armed Guanyin Bodhisattva Thangka | Hand-Painted Bodhisattva of Infinite Compassion

Thousand-Armed Guanyin Bodhisattva, the embodiment of infinite compassion, is depicted seated gracefully upon a blooming lotus — a symbol of purity rising from the depths of samsara. Each holding a sacred implement, she represents the all-reaching compassion that perceives and alleviates the suffering of every being. Her serene countenance radiates peace and assurance — a reminder that true compassion embraces all without distinction.

This thangka portrays Guanyin Bodhisattva seated in full majesty, surrounded by halos of divine light and intricate lotus motifs. Each of her thousand arms is meticulously rendered, symbolizing the vastness of enlightened action. The harmonious blend of gold, coral red, and deep turquoise evokes both transcendence and warmth — a visual hymn to compassion’s boundless power.

Hand-painted in Lhasa, Tibet, this thangka follows traditional techniques preserved for centuries.Natural mineral pigments — malachite for greens, azurite for blues, cinnabar for reds — are ground by hand and layered with exquisite precision. Each delicate line and brushstroke embodies the artist’s devotion, transforming pigment and canvas into a meditative act of offering. The result is a painting designed not just to be seen, but to be felt — a living expression of spiritual beauty and inner peace.

Created by Lixindi, a recognized master of Tibetan intangible cultural heritage, this Green Tara Thangka reflects over thirty years of disciplined artistry.Renowned for his mastery in linework and facial rendering, Lixindi’s paintings are celebrated for their lifelike depth — legends say that the more vivid the face, the stronger the Buddha’s blessing. Her work bridges devotion and artistry, infusing each thangka with a spirit that feels both ancient and alive.

Beyond its visual beauty, this thangka channels the spirit of infinite compassion and protection.Display it in your meditation space, yoga room, or home altar to invite Guanyin Bodhisattva’s blessings of serenity, empathy, and divine grace. For both collectors and practitioners, it stands as a bridge between sacred art and the living path of mindfulness.

“In every hand, compassion reaches the world.”
Invite the serene presence of Thousand-Armed Guanyin Bodhisattva into your home — a timeless hand-painted symbol of universal love and boundless mercy.

FOUNDER STORY

From artist Li Xindi

Li Xindi is an outstanding female inheritor of China's contemporary Thangka art, an intangible cultural heritage, and the "Ambassador for Intangible Cultural Heritage Communication in the New Era". She was once a teacher aiding Tibet. In 2012, she became attached to Thangka art after encountering Thangka murals and has been engaged in Thangka painting for 13 years. She has studied under many renowned mentors such as Niangben, Danzeng Nima, and Luozang Rejie, delving deep into the craftsmanship. Despite numerous hardships during the creative process, she has always maintained a sincere love for Thangka art. With her exquisite skills, she has become a backbone in the inheritance of contemporary Thangka intangible cultural heritage. In November 2023, she was awarded a certificate of honor (No. 20232062) jointly certified by the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Recording Project and the China ICH Big Data Center, making remarkable contributions to the inheritance and dissemination of Chinese Thangka art.
