Vajrakila Thangka | The Dagger of Transformation and Protection

Vajrakila is one of the most potent deities in Tibetan Buddhism, embodying the power to pierce through ignorance and transform negative energies into awakened wisdom. As the wrathful manifestation of enlightened compassion, he protects practitioners and purifies obstacles, turning destruction into liberation.

In this thangka, Vajrakila appears with three fierce faces and six arms, radiating intense transformative energy. The central ritual dagger — the Vajrakila — symbolizes the power to cut through the three poisons: ignorance, attachment, and aversion. Flames rise around his form, representing purification and the burning away of delusion, while his feet trample dark forces beneath him, affirming the victory of wisdom over evil.

Hand-painted in Lhasa, Tibet, this thangka continues the sacred lineage of traditional craftsmanship. Natural mineral pigments — such as lapis lazuli, cinnabar, and malachite — are ground by hand and layered with care, giving each tone luminous depth. Every brushstroke becomes a prayer; every detail carries the intention of protection and blessing.

Created by Lixindi, a national-level inheritor of Tibetan intangible cultural heritage, this Vajrakila thangka unites precision and spiritual force. His mastery captures the balance of wrath and compassion — where fierce energy becomes clarity and destruction becomes release. As the masters say, “The dagger that ends illusion reveals the path to wisdom.”

This thangka carries Vajrakila’s blessings of protection, purification, and transformation. Ideal for meditation rooms, temples, or sacred spaces, it channels fierce compassion into unwavering clarity.

“Through the blade of wisdom, illusion is undone.”
Invite the transformative power of Vajrakila — a hand-painted thangka embodying protection, courage, and spiritual awakening.
