Manjushri Thangka | Hand-Painted Bodhisattva of Wisdom and Enlightened Insight

Manjushri, revered as the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, embodies the sharp clarity of awakened understanding and the compassion born from insight. Known as the “Prince of Dharma,” he represents the union of intellect and benevolence — the brilliance of truth that dispels ignorance and guides beings toward liberation. His wisdom is not cold intellect, but a luminous awareness that perceives all with equanimity and love.

In this thangka, Manjushri sits serenely upon a lotus throne, holding the flaming sword of wisdom in his right hand and a lotus bearing a sacred sutra in his left. The tiger beneath symbolizes the conquest of delusion, while the Five Buddha Crown atop his head represents the perfection of enlightened awareness. Surrounded by clouds and sacred mountains, the scene evokes his pure realm — a vision of clarity and inner illumination.

Hand-painted in Lhasa, Tibet, this thangka follows centuries-old Tibetan techniques.
Natural mineral pigments — malachite for greens, azurite for blues, cinnabar for reds — are finely ground and layered with exquisite care. Each stroke reflects meditative focus and devotion, turning color and canvas into a living act of reverence.

Created by Lixindi, a recognized master of Tibetan intangible cultural heritage, this thangka embodies over three decades of dedicated craftsmanship.Renowned for his mastery of linework and expressive faces, Lixindi’s art is said to carry the Buddha’s blessing through lifelike form — bridging devotion and artistry in one sacred creation.

This thangka channels the energy of wisdom and clarity.Display it in your study, meditation space, or altar to invite Manjushri’s blessings — awakening discernment, insight, and inner calm. For practitioners, it serves as a guide to self-awareness; for collectors, it is a timeless representation of enlightened intellect.

“Wisdom cuts through illusion like a sword of light.”
Invite the illuminating presence of Manjushri into your home — a hand-painted thangka that radiates clarity, intellect, and compassionate understanding.
