White Tara Thangka | Hand-Painted Emblem of Longevity and Compassion

White Tara embodies healing, longevity, and compassionate protection. Her serene presence reminds practitioners that steadfast practice and a pure heart nurture lasting well-being and remove obstacles from life.

In this thangka, White Tara is depicted in radiant white, seated gracefully on a lotus throne. She wears a five-leaf crown and jeweled ornaments, her hands holding symbols of blessing and protection, while the lotus beneath her reflects purity arising from suffering. The composition conveys calm dignity and the promise of renewal, inviting peace and harmony into the space it adorns.

Hand-painted in Lhasa, Tibet, this thangka preserves the sacred lineage of traditional Tibetan artistry. Natural mineral pigments — including malachite for greens, azurite for blues, and cinnabar for reds — are finely ground and layered to create luminous depth and enduring color. Every brushstroke reflects devotion and meditative focus, transforming paint and canvas into a vessel of spiritual presence.

Created by Lixindi, a nationally recognized master of Tibetan intangible cultural heritage, this White Tara thangka embodies decades of dedication. His lifelike rendering and subtle details capture the essence of Tara’s compassionate energy — as Tibetan masters say, “When the image breathes, the blessing lives.” Each line exudes the gentle field of healing and longevity that White Tara opens for devotees.

This thangka carries the blessings of White Tara — healing, longevity, and compassionate protection. Display it on altars, meditation spaces, or serene corners of the home to invite her grace, support mindful practice, and cultivate inner peace.

“Purity of heart opens the path to long life.”
Invite the gentle presence of White Tara — a hand-painted thangka that embodies compassion, healing, and enduring vitality.

Master artisans grind natural pigments from minerals and plants, then spend months in a meditative process to depict sacred Buddhist subjects, like the compassionate Buddha or intricate mandalas. This is more than decor—it's a tangible piece of Tibetan spiritual heritage, charged with intention and timeless artistry.

FOUNDER STORY

From artist Li Xindi

Li Xindi is an outstanding female inheritor of China's contemporary Thangka art, an intangible cultural heritage, and the "Ambassador for Intangible Cultural Heritage Communication in the New Era". She was once a teacher aiding Tibet. In 2012, she became attached to Thangka art after encountering Thangka murals and has been engaged in Thangka painting for 13 years. She has studied under many renowned mentors such as Niangben, Danzeng Nima, and Luozang Rejie, delving deep into the craftsmanship. Despite numerous hardships during the creative process, she has always maintained a sincere love for Thangka art. With her exquisite skills, she has become a backbone in the inheritance of contemporary Thangka intangible cultural heritage. In November 2023, she was awarded a certificate of honor (No. 20232062) jointly certified by the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Recording Project and the China ICH Big Data Center, making remarkable contributions to the inheritance and dissemination of Chinese Thangka art.
